Surya was known to the Tamil film industry though his debut film "Nerrukku Ner" with actor Vijay. Though his performance did not reach much people, he did not give up. It was his film "Nanda" with Director Bala made him a super dooper hero and he started getting more offers from big directors and his performance increased with each and every film he did after that thereby increased a crowd of fans for him.
